I know a company that equates big with success. The company’s goal is to grow as fast as possible. Take on every possible client, hire new employees like crazy which makes them outgrow their office space every couple of months. Sure, these are signs of a fast growing company. But that growth will inevitably peak. After a while, a company like this will be left with a long line of low budget, boring projects that outweighs its few big name clients.
We should be pickier about what projects we take on and who we hire. By choosing only the best deals, we could make much more money than if we did them all. And this benefits our clients because they know that we are concentrating on developing their applications close to their maximum potential.
Our goal isn’t volume. By working hard to line up innovative projects one after another, we can increase our chances of getting more great high-paying projects in the future.
What do you think are the signs of success for a company? Is it sprouting a long-long list of clients and having the fastest growing workforce in the industry? Or, like we are trying to do at Meezik, is it having a tight portfolio of high-quality, successful projects?
